Colombia’s weak defensive core

image (4)It is accurate to say that the key to be successful in a football tournament is a stable base of defenders. Colombia may not have the best one, but it does it’s job.

Colombia’s defensive core can be seen as a weak one due to its players. Mario Yepes and Luis Perea might not be the fastest and they can be overcame by a skillful and fast attacker. But Colombia’s manager, Jose Nestor Pekerman, has solved this serious problem with two magnificent players: Pablo Armero and Camilo Zuñiga. They have the fastness and skill to recover any ball and collaborate to initiate one of the most amazing and successful counterattack any National Team would fear today.

However, this might be a risk because Colombia just has a few players to replace these two should they get injured. Some people say Arias is the perfect candidate if Zuñiga gets hurt; or if Armero does, Zuñiga can change sides and give Arias his place, but I still think Pekerman has to realize he’s wasting great players like Zapata, Balanta and Aquivaldo, who are persistent in their respective teams and deserve a place at Colombia’s starting 11. With the World Cup coming up, he might have to watch for Colombian world class players to ensure a good performance in the tournament.

Not so sweet

This is a hilarious video about a guy who gets rejected after marriage proposal at a mall.

I think this is a fake viral video used as a marketing strategy by the chocolate company Cadbury. You can see in the train passing by that it says “Not so sweet”, which is a new campaign to promote their new chocolates. Ironically, it would also be a perfect description of the situation.

Whether it’s fake or not, it’s funny. Just watch the video and decide yourself.

Rooney is back

Soccer player Wayne Rooney seems to have recovered his form after scoring 2 beautiful goals on the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday and an amazing free kick goal from 25 yards out on the Premier League fixture that was disputed last Saturday against Crystal Palace.

At the age of 27 Rooney is not as fast as he used to be but he has gained lots of experience what seems to me more important now that he is playing in a deeper position on the upper field which makes him needed of good vision for goal scoring assists and log distance shots and skills what makes him a big trouble for other teams defenders.

Wayne Rooney is a crucial player at Manchester United and I personally think David Moyes, former manager at Manchester United would make a mistake if he doesn’t put Wayne on the first team squad.

Despite the rumors that had gone all over the sports news during the transfer window season that Wayne wasn’t happy playing for the Red Devils it seems that he couldn’t be happier.
